Match One: Pembroke A (43 for 6) lost to Cresselly (44 for 0)

The gap in experience was evident as Pembroke A were dismissed for 43 in 0nly 5.2 overs as Cresselly bowled and fielded really well and then reached their target without losing a wicket.

Five of Pembroke’s batsmen were run out and only Bobby Neale stayed long to top score with an excellent 21 runs before she was well caught by Ava Midgley off Jess Lewis’s bowling.

Jess finished with 1 for 6 as Ava, Claire Lewis, Ffion Ashman and Phoenix Phillips all maintained a very accurate line and length.

When Cresselly batted, openers Megan Arthur (21) and Jess Lewis (14) ran well between the wickets to score plenty of threes and hit the odd boundary to keep the scoreboard ticking over and with nine extras they were home and dry after only four overs, despite the bowling efforts of Leanne Panton, Bobby Neale, Holly Allen and Connie Lewis.

Cresselly

Match Two – Pembroke Dock (50 all out) lost to Cresselly (51 for 2)

Cresselly marched to their second comfortable win of the evening as they restricted Pembroke Dock to 50 all out and then scored 51 for 2 in only 6.1 overs.

Abi Price was the only Dock batter to reach double figures with an excellent 23 before she was well caught by Ava Midgley off Phoenix Phillips having stroked a four, five threes and two twos, with Phoenix showing was a promising young bowler she is with a 2 for 6 haul alongside Ava (2 for 3), Ffion Ashman (1 for 16) and Claire Lewis (1 for 10).

It was never a target likely to trouble Cresselly’s batting line-up, although Lowis Hughes bowled Ffion Ashman for 5 and Ava Midgley was run out for 16 but Phoenix Phillips !3) and Meg Arthur (11) batted well to see Cresselly home.

Pembroke A

Match Three - Pembroke B (41 for 4) lost to Pembroke A (42 for 4)

In a first-ever tussle between these eager teams from Treleet it was The A team which came out on top as both teams lost four wickets but in the final analysis The A team held that little edge.

Leanne Panton (9) and Bobby Neale (9 not out) topped the batting stakes for The B team as Erin Millican (1 for 5), Chloe Jones (1 for 12) and Tracy White (1 for 18) were the wicket-takers for Pembroke A.

Then their openers Tracy White (10) and Chloe Jones (18 not out) gave The A team a great start to their reply and although they lost two batters for ducks to a run out and a straight ball from Bobby Neale they kept their nerve as Chloe was joined at the end of an entertaining match by Erin Millican with a small, but vital, contribution of 3 not out!

Pembroke Dock A

Match Four – Pembroke Dock A (71 for 4) beat Pembroke B (32 for 4)

Again experience played a part as Pembroke Dock beat their rivals from nearby Pembroke B, who could only muster 32 for 4 in response to The Dock’s 71 for 4, both from eight overs.
Cheryl Hughes dominated The Dock’s batting as she opened with Lana Jones (13) and was still back at the end of the innings with an undefeated 29.

Sian Jones also chipped in with 13 against good bowling by Pembroke B’s Erin Millican (1 for 15), Sophie Jelly (1 for 16) and Tracy White (1 for 20).

But Pembroke found it hard going against The Dock’s Lana Jones, with a terrific 2 for 4 haul in her two overs alongside Cheryl Hughes (0 for 11), Nicola Murray (0 for 9), Laura Davies (0 for 6) and Lydia Jones (0 for 2) as only Bryony Shallcross (15) managed double figures but all her colleagues managed to get some batting practice in.
