2025 Senior Cup Final
Hakin United 2 – Milford United 0
Striker Liam Parks grabbed a goal in each half to earn Hakin United victory over derby rivals Milford United on a damp Ogi Bridge Meadow Stadium.Ironically man of the match Parks is the son of Milford United manager Steve Parks, so a bitter sweet day in the Parks’ household.
This is a record breaking thirteenth time the Vikings have won the Senior Cup, but fair play to the Robins they didn’t make it easy for their illustrious neighbours.
In their previous league meetings this season The Vikings won both with convincing margins, however in this cup final they were made to work extremely hard for their victory as The Robins defended resolutely and young goalkeeper Charlie Malloy had an excellent game.
Scott Davies’ Vikings led 1-0 at half time as Liam Parks scored from close range. Luby set up Parks who made no mistake with his second of the final which gave his side a two goal cushion
Robins’ goalkeeper Charlie Malloy pulled off a stunning early save to deny Hakin’s striker Shane Walsh from point blank range.The Vikings controlling territory and possession but without hurting the Robins, Jordan Kilby fired wide, Leon Luby rattled the crossbar and Walsh struck a low effort wide.
The Vikings opened the scoring in the 38th minute as Jack Britton headed a well flighted free kick inside the box which Malloy parried only for former Robin Liam Parks to follow up and put his close range effort in the back of the net.
Shortly after the interval Ben Aldred ventured forward before the Vikings’ centre back unleashed a 25 yard drive which young goalkeeper Malloy dived to his right and palmed his shot wide for a corner. Minutes later midfielder Jack Britton headed wide from the resultant corner as the Vikings went in search of a second goal.
In the 67th minute the Vikings grabbed a second as Parks got on the end of a Leon Luby cross to finish from close range into the roof of the net.
Substitute Mark Jones flashed a shot from distance just wide of the target, but there were no further goals as Hakin United picked up the silverware.There was a minute’s silence held prior to kick off in memory of Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League Secretary Brian Hawkins also former President and Chairman of Pembrokeshire Football League who also served as chairman of the West Wales Football Association.
