Pembrokeshire Primary Schools under 11’s football squad came up against very strong Carmarthen School sides in the latest round of the Tom Yeoman Festival.
Pembrokeshire A 2 - Carmarthen A 2
Archie Hughes again put Pembs ahead after a neat through ball from Jack Griffiths and there was some good passing involving Tyler Shiels and Hill. Carmarthen once again equalised and their keeper made several good saves keeping Pembs at bay. Hill had two shots blocked with minutes to go and then hit the post in the dying seconds to deny Pembs the victory they deserved.
Pembrokeshire A 0 - Carmarthen B 4
The Pembs side were caught out time and time again in a fast paced game. Carmarthen’s passing and movement caused problems all over the pitch and once their second goal had gone in the game was out of reach. The Pembs boys kept battling, but were well-beaten by a superior Carmarthen side.
Pembrokeshire B 0 - Carmarthen B 3
Pembrokeshire B 0 - Carmarthen A 1
This was a much closer game with the Pembs boys defending superbly to keep Carmarthen at bay from long periods of the match. Pembs made several of their own chances, but to no avail. Carmarthen went ahead just after half time and Pembs tried their best to get something from the game. Both goalkeepers were kept busy as the sides pressed forward. The final whistle saw Carmarthenshire have a narrow victory.
