Hakin United win easily at Neyland to go top of table

There were some interesting and high scoring results in the rest of the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League First Division.

Champions Hakin United are the new leaders after dishing out a 6-1 hiding to arch rivals Neyland at the Athletic Ground. The Nomads led 1-0  thanks to a fine header scored by Nathan Warlow – but two own goals either side of half time put the Vikings in control. There was a fantastic second half hat-trick by Ashley Bevan and Matthew Broome completed the rout.

Narberth have slipped down to third after losing 2-4 at Jesse Road against Merlins Bridge. Stephen McNabney scored a terrific hat-trick alongside a Nathan Greene strike for the Wizards. Ade Jones found the back of the net and a penalty from player/manager Matthew Price were the Bluebirds’ scorers.

Phil Thompson scored the only goal in the south county derby where Pennar Robins defeated Monkton Swifts 1-0 at Bush Camp.

In the other derby clash, Tenby won 8-0 at Saundersfoot Sports, and bagging the goals for the visitors were Jack Christopher (2), Jordan Richards (2), Billy Vaughan, Jake Proctor, Daryl Mansbridge and Sam Christopher.

St Clears gained a comfortable 3-1 victory at home against bottom of the table St Ishmaels. The Saints’ goals were shared between Ian Derbyshire, Steve Thomas and Sean Seymour Davies, Tish’s solitary goal scorer was Gareth Cheshire.

Hundleton lost 1-6 at home against West Dragons with player boss Jamie Stanley scoring his side's only goal. Finding the back of the net for the Dragons - was a brace each for Bradley Barrett, Johnny Horgan and Ashton Plunkett.
