Brilliant Muskett hat-trick seals win for Carew

 

Neyland 1 – Carew 4

 
Adam Muskett’s brilliant hat-trick set the tone for a comfortable victory for Carew against Neyland at the Athletic Ground.

The Rooks picked up their eighth win of the campaign, currently sit fourth in the table whilst The Nomads slipped back to second from bottom.

On fire Muskett opened the scoring in the tenth minute, however the lead only lasted twelve minutes before Leon Barret equalised for the hosts.

Spencer Williams restored The Rooks’ lead as they held onto a narrow 1-2 lead at half time.

The visitors had the better of the second period as deadly Muskett struck in the 67th and 70th minutes to secure the points for Rob Scourfield’s team.

Goodwick beat Monkton to stretch lead at the top

Jordan Griffiths scored a brace for Goodwick UnitedJordan Griffiths bagged a brace to help league leaders Goodwick United to victory against battling Monkton Swifts at Phoenix Park.

Wayne O’Sullivan’s Goodwick outfit have opened an impressive thirteen points gap despite second placed Hakin United who have four games in hand.

The Phoenix Lads led 3-0 at half time, Dan James got on the end of Steven Dockerty’s cross to give his side an early lead.

On the 30-minute mark Griffiths was on target with the second goal assisted by Luke Hayward.
Two minutes later a long Kyle Marsh punt fell to Rhys Dalling who raced away to score.

In the 57th minute the visitors pulled one back through Paul Miller as Declan Carroll set-up the goal scoring opportunity.

In the 70th minute the hosts added their fourth as Griffiths clinically struck from inside the box to put the game to bed.

Highly entertaining draw for mid tabled teams

Matthew Divry on target for Merlins BridgeHundleton battled back three times to secure a hard-fought home draw with Merlins Bridge.

This was an end-to-end highly entertaining game for the two mid tabled teams.

In the 36th minute Matthew D’Ivry struck for the Wizards, five minutes later Jack Blunsden levelled matters, then Richard Hughes hit the back of the net that gave the visitors a slender 2-1 half time lead.

Four minutes after the break Hundelton squared matters as Billy Davies made no mistake from the spot.

However, a minute later saw the Wizards regain a 3-2 lead as Ben Davies struck, but there was a final twist as Blunsden equalised as he got on the end of Geraint Lewis’ cross to score - both teams shared the spoils.

Tish win to move out of drop zone

St Ishmaels moved out of the relegation zone thanks to a slender victory over Pennar Robins.

Gerard Gray’s Tish outfit are fighting for their lives, this was their fifth win of the campaign as they leapfrogged Neyland.

The only goal scored in the first minute by Owen Lawrie, it could be a defining moment for Tish who are determined to stay in top flight.

However, the visitors was awarded a penalty late in the game, but Connor Roberts missed from the spot so there was a huge sigh of relief from the Tish camp at the final whistle.

Matthew Ellis’ Clarby Road outfit who are third in the table-controlled matters from the outset, scoring goals at regular intervals.
