Pembrokeshire Under 13s (133 for 5) drew with Gwent Under 13s (215 for 4)
Pembrokeshire U13s recently hosted Gwent in the first Regional Competition match
at Pembroke Dock CC and found it hard going against very strong and experienced opposition.

Gwent batted first and despite Nick Jones catching the opening batsman off Harry Cook's bowling early on, Gwent posted a very imposing score of 215 for 4 wickets. Robert Clarke was the pick of the batsmen with an excellent 126 before being bowled by Dan Llewellyn, with good support from Ryan Avery, with 41.
Pembrokeshire's other wicket takers were Iori Hicks and Geraint Rees, with captain Harry Cook's bowling figures of 6 overs 1 for 17, being the pick of the bunch.
Bright start soon ended
Pembrokeshire's reply began brightly before opener Nick Jones was unlucky to be run out for 1 by his partner, Geraint Rees, who soon followed him back to the pavilion having scored 14. Kyle Williams (18) and Jacob Lay (10) both looked in good shape before falling and James
Davies carried his bat for an excellent 55 not out with Harry Cook 2 not out at the end of the 40 overs. Pembrokeshire's total was 133 for 5, well short of the Gwent score but the team will hopefully be more positive in their batting after this game.
Pembrokeshire play Cardiff & The Vale next Sunday at Whitland, and Mid Glamorgan at Neyland on the 19th.
