Beat the Expert - Week 3 : fixtures for 19th January 2013
All to play for in in final week
It finished all square at 4-4 in the third week of predictions between The Expert and Chris Tansey. So everything hinges in their final clash next weekend. "I've got to give him credit, he's giving me a good run for my money," said The Expert. "Next week will see that the winner takes all. Good luck Mr Tansey. You'll definitely need it!"
Tansey's still in there fighting!
The Expert eased into a one-point lead after the second week of his tipping tussle with Chris Tansey, the popular former manager of Hakin United and boss at Pembrokeshire League sponsors Manderwood's.
The Expert was unusually quick to praise his old adversary but as usual threw in a few barbed comments.
“I thought that Mr T did really well, considering his form in the past, but I know that he is prone to crack under pressure so I will be looking to get right on top next Saturday.
“I expect he will be contacting others like 'Flower' Picton and his minions in work but it will do him no good. My mole tells me that his pal in the Neyland side had predicted they would beat Tish and look what happened – and I bet he'll go against the Nomads this week and they could well win!â€
Chris countered by saying that he was pleased to be in touch and he felt that perhaps the natural over-confidence of his adversary might be The Expert's downfall.
“I was so close to getting a couple of scores right and it is time I had that bit of luck The Expert had the previous two weeks. Believe me, I'm still in with a real chance here – all I need is a little touch of good fortune and I could be wearing that 'I Beat the Expert!' tee-shirt in a few weeks' time!â€Remember the format – there is one point for a correct forecast and a bonus point for getting the scoreline correct!â€

Tansey's Forecasts:
Division One:
Goodwick United 3 - St Ishmaels 1
Tish had a great win at Neyland last week so they will be confident at Phoenix Park – but I think that Goodwick are home are a different kettle of fish and so I have to go for a home win by two goals.Johnston 5 - Solva 0
Solva are whole-hearted battlers and I take my hat off to them but Johnston at Glebelands is a challenge for any team in the division. It looks a banker home bet and for me it's a matter of trying to get the scoreline right.Merlins Bridge 5 - Hundleton 1
Hundleton could still be reeling from missing out on a semi-final place or eager to get back into things with a bang – but either way I think the Bridge will be too street-wise for them as my old mate Bernie Armstrong looks to get them to do well.Monkton Swifts 3 - Tenby 1
The Swifts are another side just out of the Senior Cup so Tenby could catch them unawares at Monkton Lane – but I think Benno (Jones) will have the Swifts looking to bounce back.Narberth 3 - Saundersfoot Sports 1
It's the same with Narberth as they entertain a good Saundersfoot team – they will be eager to show that bowing out of the Senior Cup hasn't stopped their wanting to keep going well until the end of the season. This is one that has been hard to try and forecast!Neyland 1 - Pennar Robins 2
After the 'duff gen' I had from Sean Hannon last weekend I have to go for a win by the Robins, who will be delighted by reaching the Senior Cup last four, but I expect it to be very close!
