Beat the Expert - Week 3 : fixtures for 8th December 2012

That little flower from Hakin is beaten fair and square by The Expert

The Expert narrowly defeated 'Pansy' Picton 8-7 in week three. But the little petal from Hakin has a 16-13 overall advantage going into the final week.
“He really does think he is unbeatable,” said The Expert. “But I beat him fair and square this week and he was lucky I didn't get any correct scores otherwise it could have been curtains.”
Make sure you catch up with their final dual next week. Will Daisy, Petunia, Pansy claim another 'Beat the Expert' t-shirt? Or will The Expert claim victory right at the death? All will be revealed.

'Pansy' storms ahead of The Expert

Pansy PictonThe Expert received arguably his heaviest-ever defeat at the hands of  David 'Petunia' Picton as he could muster only four points and 'Pansy' scored an amazing eight points.

“I said that The Expert was traditionally weaker at West Wales Cup time because it is out of his comfort zone,” boasted 'Pansy', “and boy was I right because he just didn't have a clue.

“I might have spent three hours poring over the possibilities and I did chat to a few people in the know, but that is part of being the top tipster and I think I have proved that I am the best in the county, if not in the whole world!

“Next week I might get a few wrong, just so he won't be ridiculed. But I will have to think about that. I wore my 'I Beat the Expert' tee shirt in Ireland last time and it's a fair bet I will be picking up another one pretty soon.”

'Pansy's' comments brought an angry grunt from our resident 'Mr Grumpy'.

“I just can't believe his luck but with 11 matches this weekend who knows what might happen to my floral friend.

“To be honest, I hate losing to him more than anyone else so I have to up my game again on Saturday, just to quieten him down a bit.”

“I've had phone calls from Hakin asking me to beat him because that's all he talks about at matches, and the same thing at his work. But just remember little flower, pride comes before a fall!”

It should be an interesting Saturday afternoon!!

Remember the format – there is one point for a correct forecast and a bonus point for getting the scoreline correct!”

Pansy's Forecasts:

Senior Cup

Clarbeston Road 2 - Hundleton 1
It is bound to be hard-fought but I think Clarbie might just edge through by the odd goal in three with home advantage.

Pennar Robins 3 - Tenby 2
This could be another tight tussle but I expect the Robins to come out on top because they are the stronger all-round team.

Division One

Goodwick United 3 - Neyland 1
No-one finds it easy at Phoenix Park and after their West Wales Cup win Goodwick should be capable of victory here.

Hakin 4 - Saundersfoot Sports 1
I know this is the top clash of the day and I am biased but I think we can win well here, no bother!

Johnston 3 - Narberth 1
Johnston played really well last Saturday and in Adam Hawkins and Joe John they have proven goal grabbers who will ensure the Tigers win with a bit in hand.

Monkton Swifts 2 - Merlins Bridge 4
I would like to see Monkton Swifts win this match, for obvious reasons, but I think the Bridge will come out on top in the end.

St Ishmaels 3 - Solva 1
Both sides are desperate for points to help stay in the division and I think Tish are likely to grab the three points on offer.

Division Two

Carew 1 - West Dragons 3
The Dragons are rightly favourites for promotion and they should be far too strong for Carew, who are not as strong as they used to be in my day!

Letterston 1 - Angle 2
Angle need the three points and they might just get them in a hard-fought encounter!

Milford Athletic 2 - Herbrandston 2
The Expert would say I'm sitting on the fence here but I really think honours will end even between two well-matched teams.

Milford United 4 - Lamphey 0
The Robins look far better equipped to me in scoring goals and I believe they will win easily at Marble Hall.
