Beat the Expert - Week 2 : fixtures for 1st December 2012
'Petunia' wins to take an early lead
'Petunia' Picton beat The Expert 8-4 this week to take an overall 9-5 lead after the second week of predictions. The little flower from Hakin was full of confidence saying, "This is too easy. Call himself an Expert? I got the Bridge result smack on and he wasn't even close with his so-called prediction. I'll be even stronger next week!"
"As usual he's all mouth," retaliated The Expert. "He got lucky this week, but it's back to league action next week and that's where I'm strong, and with two weeks to go I'll bounce back!"'Petunia' is playing The Expert
The Expert and David 'Petunia' Picton had little chance to shine last weekend because of the weather but both are in confident mood regarding this weekend's games in the first division (3) and the West Wales Cup (7).
“The Expert is traditionally weaker at West Wales Cup time because it is out of his comfort zone,†said Petunia, “so I am confident of building a lead that will hold me in good stead over the next two weeks.â€
Petunia's comments brought a snort of derision from our resident 'Mr Grumpy'.
“I've played in far more of these matches than that little flower has and I have moles all over the place,†he grunted, “like the one in his family telling me about his hours poring over fixtures with his pencil stub in hand.
“It will do him no good because there is no substitute for class,†and I have that in plenty so I aim to show him this week who is top dog – me!â€
Again we pointed out to The Expert that his opponent's nickname was 'Daisy' and not 'Petunia' and he snorted,
“Everyone thinks he is a flower so it doesn't matter. A daisy is pretty ordinary – and so is he!â€
Remember the format – there is one point for a correct forecast and a bonus point for getting the scoreline correct!â€

Petunia's Forecasts:
Division one:
Hundleton 2 - Solva 1
Hundleton should return to winning ways against Solva but I believe it will be a lot closer than some people think!Neyland 3 - Tenby 0
Neyland are doing well towards the top of the table and should be too strong for Tenby – but they will have to be on top form!St Ishmaels 2 - Monkton Swifts 2
These are two sides eager for points and it should be close – so I think I'll sit on the fence here!West Wales Cup:
Clarbeston Road 1 - Johnston 4
I have to go for Johnston because they are the in-form side in local football – and should be too strong for Clarbie.
Hakin United 4 - Bwlch Rangers 1
Bwlch are sixth in the Carmarthenshire Premier League but we are looking forward to having home advantage and I think we can win here.Malster Sports 3 - Narberth 2
Malster Sports are in Division Three of the Swansea League but are on top so are no mugs – and with home advantage but just edge out Narberth.Merlins Bridge 4 - Pontlliw 2
This could be a real battle because Pontlliw are third in Division One of the Cardiganshire Football League – but I think the Bridge will join us in the next round.Milford United 1 - Seaside 3
Milford United face a real test here because Seaside are currently the top side in the Carmarthenshire League – and eager to do well in this competition.Onllwyn 1 - Goodwick United 3
I'll go for Goodwick but not with total confidence because their opponents are top of the Neath second division so might be a useful outfit.Penlan Club 3 - Pennar Robins 2
The Robins are a good side but so are Penlan, who are fourth in the top division in Swansea – so I think the Robins might just miss out by the odd goal.
